ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

EVERY MEMBER IS IMPORTANT

The Live Free or Die Alliance Community is made up of groups integral to its success as a forum and resource for issues affecting New Hampshire.

Live Free or Die Alliance

Regular Members:
Regular Members are individuals who share the goals of the Live Free or Die Alliance, support its mission, and provide a means to communicate with them. LFDA members, as a whole, will gather at least once each year at the Annual Meeting to elect the Trustees of the Live Free or Die Alliance Council and to receive reports on the affairs, operations, and other activities of the LFDA, presented by their fellow members. All members are encouraged to take an active part in the LFDA and will be kept completely informed of issues, developments, and events through our website.

LFDA Council:
At the heart of the LFDA is the Live Free or Die Alliance Council. Its members are called Trustees and they are elected by the Regular Members in good standing at the Annual Meeting. The Council is an old-fashioned, face-to-face town hall style discussion group that meets, studies, evaluates, and debates public policy issues that relate to the LFDA mission, and it has broad representation across the state. The LFDA will publish the results from its Council meetings on the LFDA website.

The burgeoning "Deliberative Democracy" movement uses citizen engagement to meet and resolve community issues. The LFDA Council will encourage, track, and report on the activities of study circles, civic juries, and other Deliberative Democracy groups that are active in New Hampshire.

Board and At-Large Members:
The Board of Directors, composed of Regular Members in good standing, oversees the LFDA. Its members are elected to three-year terms by the At-Large Members, who are also drawn from the Regular Membership. The Board is responsible for setting the LFDA’s agenda, managing the financial and administrative affairs of the LFDA, together with the LFDA Council and all Members, and establishing the means and methods for achieving its objectives. The Board elects officers and appoints committees to help carry out its responsibilities.

Town Hall Members:
Town Hall members are individuals who have registered on the LFDA Virtual Town Hall.

Founding Members:
Founding members are individuals who have contributed to the founding ideas and structure of this important organization.

Honorary Members:
Honorary members are selected and designated by the Board of Directors for their commitment to community service, their support and contribution to civil discourse, and their embodiment of the Live Free or Die traditions that make both our state and organization an example for active citizenship.
