At the heart of the LFDA is the Live Free or Die Alliance Council. Its members are called Trustees and they are elected by the Regular Members in Good Standing at the Annual Meeting. The Council is an old-fashioned, face-to-face town hall style discussion group that meets, studies, evaluates and debates public policy issues that relate to the Alliance mission, and it has broad representation across the state. The LFDA will publish the results from its Council meetings on our website.
The modern-day equivalent of this tradition is the burgeoning movement called “Deliberative Democracy,” which uses citizen engagement to meet and resolve community issues. The LFDA Council will encourage, track and report on the activities of study circles, civic juries and other Deliberative Democracy groups that are active in New Hampshire.
The Council is now in formation, and will provide its reports here and within the issues forums.
If you are interested in discussing the issues facing New Hampshire, on a face-to-face basis please sign-up to debate - volunteer form.
